Tawaf un Nisa Update

Hi all,

Turns out my teacher doesn't know :) I will try to get the info on this. He had just about as much luck looking up information on the topic after he went to Hajj as I have. Apparently, it is not often explained. Br. S did say he would try and find the answer when he got back into town.

I will find it for you and answer the mystery! Cause I gotta know how I suddenly would become non-maharam to my (Insha'Allah) future husband. I would so not want to make that mistake.

  2. I was just thinking that it would really suck if you didn't know and thus didn't do it at hajj, if you were married! Lol. I guess though that if you truly weren't aware of it then you'd be okay.
I asked M about it and he was like "Um. Of course I know about it, you know you'd be haram for me if I didn't do it right? So of course I know!" hahahahaha.

  4. Caraboska: Thank you :) I found this one too but it still doesn't answer my question as to WHY this happens. Because according to this article you just can't have sex or wear perfume until you do Tawaf un Nisa. That doesn't exactly make you non-marharam although some have said it makes you totally non-maharam to your husband. Still doesn't say why you can't wear perfume.....and it doesn't say if this only applies to women or not (Although I believe nisa means women). And if it does why do only women have to do it why do men not have to?

I bet they dont know. They've probably been doing it for so long they are just afraid to not do it anymore. That might be why Sunnis no longer use it.

  5. I thought men have to do it before they can sleep with women - that's at least how I understood the page I linked to. And they do give some sort of explanation there.
