This is kinda random but I am now on a mission. A mission to find a light blue cotton square scarf. Emphasis on COTTON. That has been the problem. Chiffon will not be good when its hot, nor will satin because it is slippery. Silk is nice but then I need an underscarf and its back to hot.
I can't find any. Anyone know where you can find cotton square scarves? Or the awesome triangles ones! That is what a friend of mine wears but she says you have to get them from India or Pakistan :(.
Any suggestions?
This is probably not your first choice, but you could always sew one yourself; that way it is exactly the way you like it.
ReplyDeleteHere are some cotton square ones; I don't see light blue per se, but maybe you'd like the aqua or lilac ones:

Ooooo these could work! Yeah I might end up making my own....although these would be fun to add things too. Have you bought anything from here before?
ReplyDeleteThey have the triangle hijab SUBHANNALLAH! lol I really like the triangle kind
ReplyDeleteAlhamdulillah!!! No, I haven't bought anything from them yet, but their hijab selection is so huge I might want to try them out in the future Insha'Allah.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason 100% cotton hijabs are hard to find. I ordered from alhannah before, but it was probably 4 years ago. At the time I was happy with their scarves and customer service.
ReplyDeleteI dont normally wear square hijabs but normally you can find suitable ones in normal high street shops! will keep checking the numerous sites I use for you

Thanks ladies! This site seems really good. And since they are based in the US it means less shipping time for me YAY!
ReplyDeleteStacy: Yeah I dont get that one. You'd think they'd be quite popular.
Liz: Yeah we don't have anything like High Street in my neck of the woods. You can find long pashminas EVERYWHERE but not much else. And the long fashion scarves this year are too long....I need to trim mine. Too much fabric! The one I bought is as long as me and went around my head 3 times!
Hot weather hijab tip

A bit on the pricey side, but I use them as underscarves when it's really hot. It wicks sweat away from your head and keeps it cool.
I actually don't like cotton all too much in the heat, because it soaks up the sweat and then I'm left with a sweaty and soggy lump on my head, ha. A buff + georgette square scarf usually does well by me.
Oooooo interesting. one of those might be good thanks!
ReplyDeleteI like Cotton but it has to be the right kind or youre right it can make things worse O_O But at least it breathes. I hear silk is the best.
