God Help The Outcasts: The Hunchback of Notre Dame
I love this song. Its so beautiful it makes me tear up every time. She is singing a prayer to God to not help her, but all the outcasts of Paris like her even though she is most likely going to be put to her death by the evil Priest Frollo. If you haven't seen this movie you should. By far one of Disney's best works. And the art is amazing.
Enjoy
The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a fantastic movie. Definitely one of Disney's darkest films (it deals with themes of social outcasts, lust, religion, and even genocide). The music, especially the Gregorian chants that are often heard in the background, is phenomenal.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to hear a really haunting song, check out "Hellfire" sung by the amazing Tony Jay. In it, Frollo expresses his torment over his lust for Esmeralda, and how if he can not have her, she must be killed. When juxtaposed with the song that Quasimodo (who I would totally marry if he was Muslim) sings, called "Heaven's Light", it is truly deep/eerie.

Anne: Yes that is a good one and really shows how different this movie is from the rest of the Disney hand-drawn cannon.
