Boobquake

Salon.com

I love the journalist's response to this rather backwards cause. Cause she is 100% right. Lets objectify ourselves to show we are free...uhuh ok, welcome to Western feminism where less clothes = more free.

Right.

  1. LOL! I know! What twisted crazy logic. "I'm free and powerful when I'm a sex object." Uh... no. That's not how it works. When will they get a clue??

  4. Lol yeah, I saw that online and it happened to be a part of a 'men's' magazine. The 2nd author (male) commented "Yes thank you, let's see more cleavage and less cover up please!"

  5. I liked the article, too, and think Boobquake is ridiculous. But I don't think you're being fair to Western feminism to suggest that it's about wearing less clothes. There is a particular take on feminism that seems popular among younger American women right now ("feminism lite" as the author of the Salon article writes; or "sex-positive feminism" as others have labelled it). But there is also a serious critique of such from more radical feminists. There is no such thing as a monolithic "Western feminism."

  6. Zuhura: This particular group is about less clothes. But yes you are right not all feminists would say less clothes = more free. A lot of true feminists would be all "Um ladies you are contradicting yourself by doing that."
