People need to take their opinions and shove it!
You think its bad to look nice in hijab? Good for you then look ugly. But if it makes someone feel better about wearing hijab then that is a POSITIVE. Is their nice looking hijab hurting you? No. Is it hurting the religion? No. is it helping the image of the religion? Most likely yes.
So what is the problem?
Does it hurt you that "Susy" prefers color over black? No. Is color against the religion? No. Is looking presentable against the religion? No.
So what is the problem?
Dont like how someone got married even though its within the laws of Islam? Yes. Is their marriage hurting you? No. Are your comments telling them that they are bad people going to change the fact they married? No. Are you perfect? No. Then guess what: keep your mouth shut and let them be happy.
Are you perfect like the prophets? No. Are you sinless and guided like the Imams? No. Are you God? Definitely no.
Then who are you to judge?

Awesome rant. Absolutely no one is perfect, no one's been perfect since the Prophet (saw), and no one's going to be perfect until Jesus (as) comes back to Earth again. This judging other people is so rampant it's not even funny. No one is responsible for anyone else. If you see someone doing something that's obviously wrong, you give them NICE nasiha following proper adab, and that's it. If they decide to change, great. If not, you've done your job, and now you leave them be. ALLAH is the Final, Perfect Judge, and He judges better than any of us could ever dream of because He knows what we don't know. The best thing we can do is pray for guidance for ourselves and others.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that the behavior of some Muslims are making you hesitant to take your shahadah. But if you feel you're ready to take it, then do it. Forget about the way other Muslims behave, because we're all going to be judged perfectly in the end.
Ouch! I had a similar comment on my blog today by some well-meaning Muslim "advisor." It is unfortunately all too often. Makes me cringe.
ReplyDeleteOnce I mentioned on my blog about my father's death and there was a small mention of our pet dog in the post and I got a flurry of comments not offering condolences on my father's death but that I should repent to Allah that I had kept a dog as a pet and that my father had allowed it! It broke the camel's back. I felt like saying 'great! Fuck off.'

People just need to get their priorities straight, stop worrying about everyone else, and GROW UP.
ReplyDeleteIt's also the reason someone close to me goes to a mosque where no-one knows them. And it was also a factor in me stopping going to any church (although I did bring it on myself by openly breaking the "rules").
